on Glanyravon Farm
Glanyravon Fram is based between the Market Towns of LLanidloes and Rhayader, in Powys, Mid Wales.
Whether you are looking to escape to the country side for a relaxing break or are looking to take part in lots of activities, you couldn't wish for a better location.
​We are only a few miles from Rhayader the Outdoor Capital of Wales, the first town on the River Wye and home to the spectacular dams and reservoirs of the Elan and Claerwen Valleys, and only a few miles from Llanidloes, the first town on the river Severn and home to the Clywedog reservoir, the Hafren Forest so why not take a hike to the start of the River Severn!

Glanyravon Cottage - Glan yr afon Bwythyn
Our Holiday Cottage, Glanyravon Cottage, was originally built in 1846 as a Cow Shed, its is made from original local stone and has traditional slate tile roofs, but has long since been converted into lovely comfy accomodation
.
The Afon Dulas river runs through our farm along with part of the old Mid Wales Railway line. You are surrounded by beautiful Welsh hills. We are surrounded by miles and miles of bridleways and walkways so there is lots of walking options directly from the farm.
We are very bio-diverse here have a real variety of birds, from the Red Kites that soar over head daily, to Curlews. If you are lucky, you might even see Hares and Stoats, but you are guaranteed to see sheep!

We are not in a designated Dark Skies Zone, however, on a clear night the sky is full if stars.
​
The cottage has a front and rear garden, so if you want to relax and hear the sounds of the countryside you can do so on our hand built picnic bench or grab a coffee and sit at the bistro table.
Enter the 'Bwythyn' through a small secure garden area with a small Bistro Set to enjoy a morning coffee.
​
The internal porch is just the right size to remove your walking gear and then move into the open plan Lounge and Dining area. Here you will find exposed stone walls, exposed timbers and a comfy sofa suite to rest and relax on. The dining table is tucked away but the perfect size for a romantic dinner.
​
In the lounge is a smart TV that is connected to Freesat and also our internet is connected to Starlink, meaning you should have no problems in streaming your favourite tv shows.
​
The newly fitted Kitchen and Shower room provide a touch of luxury but still retains the charm of this period building. Light floods through the Velux windows and tilt & turn double glazed units. Through these you can see the surrounding hills and trees and on clear nights, the stars!
​
Head upstairs to the mezzanine area, greeting you is an oak framed king size bed and large dressing area. The Velux Skylights let the light and views shine through. Original Oak beams run the length of the roof .The cottage is heated with oil central heating, so even in Winter you can come back to a toasty cottage.
​
The rear garden has the parking space and patio area where you will find a picnic table. ​
The 'Bwythyn' sleeps 2 adults and up to 2 pets.

Up to 2 dogs can stay with you at the cottage.​
​We do ask that dogs are kept on a leash. We will be able to let you know where you can take your dog for the morning and bedtime walk.
Not only do we have livestock but so do our neighbours and also when visiting local attractions please consider other farmers and visitors.
​There is a £20 supplement for pets.

We are very lucky to have plenty of places to go for food & drink.
​
Llanidloes & Rhayader our closest towns have plenty of pubs, cafes, restaurants and takeaways to suit most tastes.
​
​You can also get your basic provisions from many of the independent stores locally and we do have Co-op & SpaR very nearby.
​
​For larger supermarkets please visit Newtown, where you will find, Morrisons, Tesco, Aldi & Lidl.
​
If you want to have groceries delivered, Asda, Morrisons & Tesco all deliver here.
We are in the Heart of Wales, with so much to do nearly but also not to far from big cities, so its a real escape.
​Elan Valley, Hafren Forest, Clywedog Reservoir, Hafod Estate, Cambrian Mountains, the start of the River Servern and River Wye are all within 20-30 minutes drive.
​We are around 1 - 1.5 hours from many amazing places to visit! Hereford, The Brecon Beacons & the Black Mountains, Snowdonia National Park, Shrewsbury, Aberystwyth and Cardigan Bay.​
​2 hours from Mount Snowdon, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, North Coast of Wales and South Coast of Wales, Cheltenham, Worcester and Bristol.
